DADLABS.COM

Videographer/Editor 2009
DadLabs, Inc. produces four webisodes a week about parenting and fatherhood. DadLabs.com covers a range of topics from gear reviews to hot topics and produces videos featuring interviews, multi camera shoots, on location and in studio production as well as scripted and unscripted styles. With nearly 500 videos out on the internet the webisodes have a combined total views of over 8 million.

Geocaching: Treasure Hunting With Your Kids: Daddy Troy instructs parents on how to do this fun outdoor activity with your kids.
Camera and editing by Dixie Davis.

Go Play Outside: Daddy Clay discusses children's safety vs. independence. Should young kids be allowed to play by themselves outside? Is the world really such a dangerous place. Graphics and animations make an otherwise vlog like video eye catching and more entertaining.
Editing and animations by Dixie Davis.

Family Music Festival: DadLabs' coverage of the Austin Kiddie Limits Stage at the 2009 Austin City Limits Music Festival.
Camera and editing by Dixie Davis.

Jump! Gymnastics: Daddy Owen explores fun new activities for your kids.

Ovulation Vacation: Green screens and graphics help making this video on conception travel informative and entertaining.
Studio footage and editing by Dixie Davis.

Circumlocution: Owen Edgerton write, directs and stars in his own scripted sitcom show on DadLabs. For the last few episodes Owen's wife Jodi has made Owen wear an empathy belly which simulates pregnancy. In this video a simple conversation about Owen's fake baby turns into a heated debate about circumcision.
Edited by Dixie Davis.

Mother's Day Menu for Dads by Average Betty: Another episode of Quality Time in which online celebrity Average Betty helps Daddy Brad to make a Mother's Day Brunch. With two cameras on location in a kitchen and a third camera on Betty via Skype this video made for a complicated edit.
Edited by Dixie Davis, 2nd camera footage shot by Dixie Davis.

DadLabs Live: Recently DadLabs has launched a 30 minute live streaming web show once a week that features parenting talk, news and giveaways. I serve as producer, setting up the studio, organizing and controlling the broadcast and guiding on camera talent through topics. This show is still very new and we are working out the kinks but each episode is better than the last. You can view a recent broadcast here.
